What is the "daily cutoff"?
The daily cutoff is the borderline we reference that differentiates the present day drops to anything that dropped in the previous days and has stuck around.
Why is the daily cutoff important to know?
Vine does not drop in a linear fashion. A new vine item can drop down anywhere, from the first page to the page containing the last item dropped from the previous day. Hence why knowing what the daily cutoff is becomes so important: it allows you to hone in on what are truly the new picks. Knowing the daily cutoff for AI in total also allows you to figure out what the cutoff lines are for each subcategory as well.
How can I find out what the daily cutoff is?
Members of the community will sometimes post screenshots of the daily cutoff point in ai-discussion. A modmin will then pin these, so you can easily reference ai-discussion pins for that. If not, asking in the chat is a good way of finding out.
For a more programmatic way, you can visit #styling and @import cutoff.css, which will automatically generate a .css file to highlight the last items dropped from the previous day (cutoff styling is no longer updated, but you can use extensions that hide old items to the same effect). An advantage for this styling feature is that it will very clearly highlight the cutoff items for each subcategory, whereas pins on ai are usually for AI overall.
