Since we all have different time zones and daily schedules, the server does not have a specific timeframe for when alerts are allowed to be posted. This means if your phone or Discord settings aren't properly configured, you may get pinged for alerts when you don't expect it! Here's a few ways to mute Discord pings when you don't want to be disturbed.
- Set up Alert snooze
On our dashboard you can use the Alert Snooze functionality to schedule a time to turn off and turn on the alerts in the server.
- Hide/Show Alerts by Country
On our dashboard as well you can click to hide/show all the alert channels for each country.
- Mute the alerts category
Right-click on the "USA ALERTS" category title (or long-press on mobile), then click "Mute Category". From here, you'll be able to select whether you want the mute on a timer from 15m to 24h, or if you would like it muted indefinitely until you manually turn it back on. You can also do this for individual channels (for example, if you temporarily don't want AI alerts) by selecting the specific channel title.
- Mute the whole server
Right-click the "Amazon Vine" title at the very top of the channel list (or long-press on mobile), then click "Mute Server". Similarly to category muting, from here you can choose how long you'd like the server to be muted. If you'd like more information on how muting channels and servers works, check out this help article from Discord: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/209791877-How-do-I-mute-and-disable-notifications-for-specific-channels-
- Use your phone's Do Not Disturb settings
This is the best option if you know there's a consistent time you don't want to be disturbed by pings, such as overnight or during class. Check out your phone's Do Not Disturb feature to see if you can set an auto DND schedule for Discord pings! iOS makes this easy to do on iPhones with the Focus feature, and many Android phones have the option to set a schedule for DND as well.
