This page is specifically for the General tab on Vine Helper. It will go into detail on the different selectable options, how they work, and what they do, including:
Vine Helper light and Vine Helper dark when the browser is set to dark mode:
Note: The UUID has been moved to the System tab.
This option adds pagination at the top, as well as keeps the original pagination at the bottom of each page. This is a different option than pagination-on-top.css
which removes the bottom pagination.
This option allows the top pagination to expand beyond the default of the first 2 page numbers and the very last page.
This allows you to select how many page numbers you wish to display. The minimum number is 1. The max number is 10.
This options adds a new tab called "Hidden" along with an eye icon on the toolbar. When the eye icon is clicked, it will move the item to the hidden tab.
This option will let the server store your items and use that list to decide which items should be hidden on a page.
The main use of this feature is for members using Vine on multiple devices, allowing them to share the same list of hidden items across all their devices.
In order for multiple devices to share the same remote list
, you need to set (copy) the same UUID
across all devices. This way the server will see all devices as the same user.
Technicalities:
shown
or hidden
after this option is enabled, will be stored on the server. Your pre-existing local list will not be uploaded. This is no longer an option and is on by default. It no longer appears in the menu.
This will allow Vine Helper to share data pertaining to the community features:
The data is shared to the Vine Helper server where it is then shared with all users of the extension. This allows things such as ETV data to be populated to all users and is why some ETV data is available even if you have never clicked on an item. Data is shared anonymously and no personal info or browsing data is shared or stored by Vine Helper.
ETV means "Estimated Tax Value", which is the amount users in certain countries will be taxed upon. If enabled, the extension will show an estimated range of ETV value that was shared by the community.
This option will load the date and time an item was first seen by a user of the community. It will also display
on the bottom left part of the image thumbnail how long ago this item was first seen.
Remember:
Note: This option is required to use the Highlight Recently Added Items
feature.
The Highlight Recently Added Items
feature will add a button next to the search bar. This button will save the current date and time, representing the last time you browsed the list. You need to set your marker manually. Then when you come back later and refresh your page, all the items which were reported to the server since you set your marker will be highlighted in yellow.
New items will be highlighted followed by a page reload.
This option used to be called the Bookmark feature
.
Note: This option needs the First Time Seen
option to be enabled to work.
This queries the Vine Helper server every 60 seconds for new items. Click on Open Notifications Monitor
to view the new items OR select one of the following options for on screen notifications.
This option provides a small popup in the bottom right hand corner of the screen that notifies of a new ASIN reported to the server. New items notifications are checked 10 seconds after page load (and then every 60 seconds).
When a new item is reported, a small popup box will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. This box will contain an image and the title of the item. When the title is clicked, you will be taken to that item's page.

New items being reported:
This adds a small image in the notification popup.
This makes a beep accompany the new item reported.
The Notifications Monitor
is a separate page that displays all of the new items. Before using it ensure that Check for New Items Every 60 Sec
is check on. After you open the Monitor page, reload a Vine page that is open (in a new tab). Once it is running, it updates the list every 60 seconds. 0ETV items will be highlighted in green. The Notifications Monitor is great for small screens that can get cluttered by the popup notifications.
There are a few limitations to the Notifications Monitor.
See Details
and the ETV being reported to the server. This makes the Notifications Monitor a great place to check to see if you missed anything, but do not rely on it to find new 0ETV items.
Note: Check for New Items Every 60 Sec
MUST be checked ON for this feature to work.
This adds sounds to the Notifications Monitor when new items are added to the list.
When first opened and separate Vine page has NOT been reloaded:
